This eight-sided room is the
newest addition to the Inn. The 170 square-foot raised bed
was designed specifically to provide nectar, host plants,
cover and water for butterflies, particularly Monarchs.
Three species of Milkweed grow there along with both
perennial and annual plants carefully selected and
positioned to meet the needs of these guests. A water
feature has been included as well as a small brush pile.
Located on the south central part of the Inn, the Octagon
room receives the most sunlight of any room in the Inn but
is protected on the north by the house and a line of large
oak trees.
